Saguenay (Quebec), May 26, 2026 – CAPCLO, a French specialist in concrete-free fencing systems for over 40 years, announces the official opening of its Canadian subsidiary in Saguenay, Quebec. The company, whose technology has been deployed across more than 45,000 km of infrastructure in Europe, is entering the Canadian market in partnership with Inter-Projet Construction, a general contractor in civil engineering and building based in Saguenay for the past 30 years.
This expansion comes at a time when Canada is preparing to invest heavily in its infrastructure (high-speed rail, energy corridors, transport networks), projects that will require proven protection solutions.
An Underestimated Public Safety Issue
In Canada, wildlife-vehicle collisions are a growing problem. Across North America, a collision occurs every minute; this represents an estimated social and economic cost of over $200 million per year in Canada alone. Yet less than 0.01% of Quebec’s road network is currently fenced. In areas equipped with appropriate systems, accidents drop dramatically, sometimes to zero.
“For the new infrastructure to be built in Canada in the coming years, integrating an effective protection solution from the outset is not only a public safety responsibility but also a sound economic choice,” explains Pierre Coquatrix, founder of CAPCLO. “We want to contribute our expertise and innovations to efforts to protect people and future infrastructure.”

Three times faster, twice as durable
CAPCLO’s concrete-free solutions enable the rapid, durable, and eco-friendly installation of fences, while ensuring high structural performance, even in the most complex environments.
Where traditional methods require excavators, concrete pouring, and large crews, CAPCLO’s patented PROPICLO technology allows for direct ground anchoring, as well as the use of a single truck where six would normally be needed.
Deployment is up to three times faster, while the observed lifespan exceeds 40 years, compared to about 20 years for conventional systems. All of this is achieved without soil contamination and using a material that is fully recyclable at the end of its life. For public and private project owners preparing to launch major projects, these advantages translate directly into savings in time, costs, and environmental impact.
“In France, our technology now protects 95% of major infrastructure,” adds Pierre Coquatrix. “We’ve spent decades perfecting a solution that combines performance, speed, and environmental responsibility. Canada is poised to experience a historic period of infrastructure development, and each of these projects will need protection. That’s what we’re here for.”
A First Success in Quebec: The Route 175 Pilot Project
Even before the official opening of its Canadian subsidiary, CAPCLO was commissioned by the Quebec Ministry of Transport to carry out a pilot project on Route 175, between Quebec City and the Saguenay region. Over a distance of 5 km, in the heart of the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve, one of Quebec’s road corridors most exposed to wildlife collisions, CAPCLO’s patented technology was successfully deployed.
This pilot project confirmed the solution’s relevance and performance under Quebec’s specific climatic and geographical conditions, paving the way for larger-scale deployments across Canada.
“When we discovered CAPCLO’s technology, we immediately understood its relevance to our Quebec context,” explains Dave Parent, co-founder of CAPCLO Canada and partner at Inter-Projet Construction. “We have harsh winters, varied terrain, and construction sites in remote areas, and this solution addresses all these challenges. Given all the major infrastructure projects set to launch in Canada, the time to act couldn’t be better.”
Inter-Projet already had expertise in installing specialized fencing to protect sensitive areas or cordon off construction sites. The company’s executives, who have partnered with CAPCLO to roll out the technology in Canada, hope that as many construction contractors as possible will adopt it.
“Canada’s infrastructure needs are immense, and these projects deserve the best technologies available on the market,” adds Dave Parent.
